Finding your footing
There is a familiar moment when someone points a camera at you and you suddenly forget what to do with your hands. Getting dressed for an important occasion can bring a similar hesitation: the clothes are there, but the whole look hasn’t quite come together.
ARTVERSE works with the skills behind those moments, from posture and movement to understanding which colours, shapes and styling choices suit you. Based in Kuala Lumpur, the brand brings together four divisions: Academy, Studio, Talent and Consulting.
Meet Goey and Nico
At its centre are founders and model mentors Goey, 倪于婷, and Nico, 张芯瑜. Both bring experience in modelling, styling and stage choreography. Goey represented Malaysia at the Miss Tourism Pageant in 2005 and received Miss Congeniality at the Astro International Chinese Pageant in 2006. Nico received the Perfect Body Goddess subsidiary award at the Goddess of Nature Pageant in 2024. Today, both teach at ARTVERSE Academy. Read more about the founders.
What happens at the Academy
The Academy’s Appearance Transformation Program gives that experience a practical structure. Its ten modules cover posture, body proportions, personal colour, hair and make-up, wardrobe planning and camera presence. There is also attention to dressing for different occasions and developing a recognisable personal style.
Some of the details are refreshingly concrete: analysing a walk, trying a colour test, working through outfit choices and putting together a personal style profile. Teaching takes place through walk and posture classes, group workshops and individual coaching. For someone curious about image training, these offer a clearer starting point than simply being told to “be more confident”.
From the classroom to the studio
The work continues beyond the classroom. ARTVERSE Studio handles shoots, styling and creative direction across fashion, beauty, bridal and lifestyle projects. Talent covers modelling bookings and longer-term image and career management. Consulting focuses on personal colour, style and wardrobe decisions for individuals and brands.
Together, the four divisions connect learning with the occasions where those skills are used: a first shoot, a stage appearance, a professional portrait or a change in personal style. The starting point can be small and specific. Knowing how to stand comfortably in a photograph is a perfectly reasonable place to begin.
